چکیده

We show that the property of being a (weakly) admissible mesh for multivariate polynomials is preserved by small perturbations on real and complex Markov compacts. Applications are given to smooth transformations of polynomial meshes and to polynomial interpolation. 2000 AMS subject classification: 30E10, 41A10, 41A63, 65D05.

Norming meshes by Bernstein-like inequalities

We show that finite-dimensional univariate function spaces satisfying a Bernstein-like inequality admit norming meshes. In particular, we determine meshes with “optimal” cardinality for trigonometric polynomials on subintervals of the period. As an application we discuss the construction of optimal bivariate polynomial meshes by arc blending. 2000 AMS subject classification: 26D05, 42A05, 65T40.

Biquartic C1-surface splines over irregular meshes

C 1-surface splines deene tangent continuous surfaces from control points in the manner of tensor-product (B-)splines, but allow a wider class of control meshes capable of outlining arbitrary free-form surfaces with or without boundary. In particular, irregular meshes with non quadrilateral cells and more or fewer than four cells meeting at a point can be input and are treated in the same conce...

Optimal-order Nonnested Multigrid Methods for Solving Finite Element Equations Iii: on Degenerate Meshes

In this paper, we consider several model problems where finite element triangular meshes with arbitrarily small angles (high aspect ratios) are utilized to deal with anisotropy, interfaces, or singular perturbations. The constant-rate (independent of the number of unknowns, the smallest angle, the interface discontinuity, the singular-perturbation parameter, etc.) convergence of some special no...

THE COMPARISON OF TWO METHOD NONPARAMETRIC APPROACH ON SMALL AREA ESTIMATION (CASE: APPROACH WITH KERNEL METHODS AND LOCAL POLYNOMIAL REGRESSION)

Small Area estimation is a technique used to estimate parameters of subpopulations with small sample sizes.  Small area estimation is needed  in obtaining information on a small area, such as sub-district or village.  Generally, in some cases, small area estimation uses parametric modeling.  But in fact, a lot of models have no linear relationship between the small area average and the covariat...
